A Letter to Customers Who are Choosing Wind Turbine
Recently, we've received some unusual requests from clients: they seeks a high-powered wind turbine with a very limited budget.
as shown in the picture, is a 2kW vertical axis wind turbine advertised by the seller for $160. As a wind power expert, I know this only has a power output of 100W, or even less. Its blade rotation diameter should be around 50cm, which translates to a windward area of 0.2 square meters.

Power=0.5P*A*Cp*V3*n。
P:Air density (usually 1.225)
A:Windward area
V:Wind speed
Cp:Wind energy utilization factor (usually 0.4)
n: 0.9
According to the formula, the final power can be calculated to be 74.8W at a speed of 12m/s.
As a manufacturer dedicated to producing real power wind turbine, we are well aware of this low-price scam: using low-power wind turbine and falsely indicating its power output, such as labeling a 500w wind turbine as a 5kW one for sale. As a result, the price is extremely low and it's easy to make a deal.
Therefore, some customers will say that your prices are a bit high and that they received cheaper quotations from other companies. In such cases, we will patiently analyze for the customers the possible overstatement of power by their peers and ask them to compare the low price they have received with the diameter and length of the wind turbine blades in our quotation.
However, not all customers can understand this. Especially those who have little knowledge of the renewable energy industry tend to prefer cheaper products due to a lack of industry expertise. We also have many customers who bought wind turbines with falsely rated power, but found that the actual power generation was far less than expected, and then came to us.
Let's look at a parameter example of a real-power wind turbine and perform a calculation.
As the picture showed, the diameter is 5.45m, so the windward area is 23.3 m2. Power=0.5P*A*Cp*V3*n。

n: 0.9
When the wind speed reach the 12m/s,The power will reach 0.5*1.225*23.3*0.4*123*0.9=8877w,So this wind turbine is true power.
The investment payback period for wind turbine is at least 2 to 3 years. If you see a very low-priced large-power wind generator for sale, such as a 5kW or larger wind generator priced at several hundred dollars, do not believe it. This is absolutely impossible. Please view this issue rationally to avoid being deceived!
