Netherlands' New Energy Policy
The Elimination of Net Metering Forces Energy Storage Integration, and Grid Rate Discounts Boost Economic Efficiency
In 2027, the Netherlands will completely eliminate net metering for household PV, and the compensation for excess power fed into the grid will be reduced to 0.0025 €/kWh. This move will encourage users to install energy storage systems, enabling self-use and alleviating grid pressure.
In addition, the Netherlands has allocated €416 million to support energy storage through the “2025 Multi-Year Climate Fund Program”, of which €100 million is earmarked for PV-plus-storage projects.
Under these policies, installing solar-plus-storage or wind & solar-plus-storage systems is more economical for local users.
Shaping a New Chapter of Green Development
As one of Europe's largest renewable energy markets, the Netherlands is actively pursuing its energy transition plan. We look forward to leveraging this exhibition to collaborate with partners in the Netherlands and neighboring countries to explore the green energy market and inject Chinese wisdom and solutions into Europe's low-carbon development.
We sincerely invite you to visit our booth and discuss your energy needs and the diverse possibilities of renewable energy.
