Horizontal axis wind turbine and vertical axis wind turbine

There are generally two kinds of wind turbines—horizontal axis and vertical axis. Each variation also has its parent special features and benefits. We’ll discuss the horizontal axis wind turbines’ differences from Jiangsu DHC vertical axis wind turbines, as well as their benefits and downsides.

AWT's are turbines designed for the harnessing of wind energy, the rotor of which is orientated vertically unlike horizontal axis wind turbines which have a horizontal rotor. Because the blades run parallel to the ground, vertical wind turbines can be shorter and wider than horizontal turbines.

A Close Look at Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines

One of the key advantages of vertical axis windmills is that they are smaller and can be installed in a more dense manner. That makes them desirable in cities, or anywhere where space is at a premium. Plus, vertical axis wind turbine are quieter and less obtrusive than horizontal versions.

Yet vertical axis wind turbines also have some drawbacks. They typically don’t transform wind into power as efficiently as horizontal axis turbines, so they may not be effective in areas with lighter wind. And they can be more difficult to repair due to their unique design.
